Maui Day 5 - Haleakula
We got on the road pretty early and drove up to Haleakula, the volcanoes on Maui. This volcano was not as high, only 10,000 feet. But after awhile we did start to feel the effects. The girls were still sick so they weren't real excited about getting back in the car. We took both Jennie and Breyden's cars so no one was in the back of the truck.
After Haleakula, we had an up country day. We stopped at a Bee Farm and walked around. They had beehives with a tube to watch them go in and out, flowers and fruits and veggies, avacodo trees, lilaquoi, bananas, etc. It was so pretty! Then bought lilaqoui, sourdough bread, and gingerbread from their shop.
Next stop was to a goat farm. It was a little pricey, but everyone had a good time.
First we feed the female goats.
While we were feeding the buck, the girls saw the baby goats and headed that way.
Then they took us all over to wash our hands and line up to milk the goats. Denali and I passed, I got hives, just petting them.
Hydee was a expert!
Hydee and Brin squirted it in their mouths and gagged. Hydee yelled, "it's warm!" Then Brin, didn't even get her mouth closed. The guides were laughing so hard!
Last stop was a sunset dinner act a place called Ocean Vodka Distillery. It was a great experience, if not a little pricey. We ate pizza, listened to live music, and watched the sunset from the hillside.
Apparently the girls thought it was funny to hug me and put their goat tour stickers on my back. I didn't even know until Brin sent me the picture!
After sunset, we headed for home, but we had to stop at Walmart for groceries since the market was so ridiculous. This was another favorite day! The girls were all sad that they didn't get to cuddle a cow on the big island, so this made up for it!
