Maui Day 2 and 3

The secong day B and Jennie had a bunch of errands to run. They are finally doing all the unemployment and gov.t stuff since losing their home to the Lahaina fires.
So we walked to the beach close by for more snorkeling. Adam, Nali and Brin went out and made an underwater aloha sign. It took about an hour.
Then they came back and buried Hydee in the sand. She turned into a mermaid, Kinley even got in there and added details to the fin and shells. Everyone laughed as they walked by.
Then when it was done, Hydee broke out and ran to the water to wash off. Everyone headed out to snorkel again. Nali dropped her phone in the water when she and Kinley went out to take pictures of it,  but they found it again.  PHEW!  I just enjoyed a beautiful day on the beach reading a book. I got rained on a bit and had to move under the umbrella until it passed.
When everyone was tired, we went back and sat in the hot tub.  It was raining even more so I left to start dinner,  everyone came back a bit later,  but Adam stayed out there for 2 hours!
When he finally came back,  B and Jennie showed up for dinner.  We were going to bbq, but it rained, so I made carnitas tacos.

The next morning we got up and ready at 8:30am. Breyden showed up but Jennie was working. We were doing the 13 Crossings hike.  Last February we only made it through 7 crossings and turned back after the bamboo forest, but it was also raining that day.  Today it was pretty windy and the waves were really big,  so it was a perfect hiking day.
The girls were little Spider monkeys climbing over the rocks. I was much slower going.  Each of the kids took really good care to help me. Normally I would be offended by that,  but I decided to swallow my pride and enjoy their expressions of love.  Getting old has its perks.
After the bamboo forest, there was young banyan tree so we took a family picture under it.  It was the halfway mark.
We finally reached the waterfall and all the girls got in. Kinley found a nice expensive towel in one of the caves.

After the photos we started back,  then turned off to another waterfall!
As we made our way back down the trail, Brin slipped and hyper extended her elbow and wrist, but other than that we all made it out alive.  We ate fresh liloqui and  sandwiches in the back of the truck before we drive down to slaughterhouse beach.Once we got to slaughterhouse, the wind was still blowing and it made the waves pretty gnarly. B, Adam and Nali tried to body surf, then tried to boogie board, then gave up and we sat and watched some other idiots try it.
We dropped Breyden off at  his friend's on the way back and went to the hot tub,  then we made pasta for dinner, had family time and went to bed exhausted.
Hydee was pretty sick all day,  so I passed out echinacea and melatonin and all went to bed.
