Maui Day 12 - Sail Maui and Aquarium

Thursday moring we left at 6 am to get to the Maala Harbor. It was really windy and rainy, but we were going sailing! We were going with the company Breyden worked for before the fires, Sail Maui. So he knew the crew and captain. Sailing is always best when there's wind, but today there was too much wind! Instead of going across to Molokini as planned,  the captain decided to stay close to Maui so we went to a spot called the Coral Gardens.
We got situated on board and they had breakfast out buffet style with breakfast sandwiches, sweet breads, and fruit. When we got to the Coral Gardens, they changed out the buffet to sandwich fixings and veggie tray.
Jennie brought her diving camera and took some pictures of Denali, then Denali took pictures abs videos the rest of the time.  The girls, Adam, and Breyden all jumped right in and started snorkeling. Hydee went down the ladder,  once I saw her go that way,  I knew I had to go too. It took me 10 mins or so to paych mysekf up for the cold wind and water, but I did it. We saw lots of fish,  Denali swam with a turtle that came up to her but left when she startled him. Breyden found an octopus which are very hard to see because they camoflage. When everyone came over,  Jennie went down to get him out of his hidey hole. Kinley said she wanted to see it ink, and then Jennie got it out by sticking Kinley's snorkel in the hole abs it swan away and inked like 3 times, so everyone was happy. Except maybe Jennie who wasn't fast enough to catch it.
Brin and Hydee missed the show because they went back to the boat a few mins after I got in the water. It was particularly cold and after the octopus,  I needed to go back in.

We all went in and ate lunch, then we headed back to the harbor. Just aswe got into the harbor, we hit the right rudder on rocks. The tide was out abs the eind was blowing out as well, so it was not as deep as it usually is. We had to get out of the harbor entrance but all we could do was go left. Fortunately Breyden was on board, although no longer an employee, he and the crew spent the next hour and a half trying to fix it enough that we could dock the ship. It took some clever maneuvering, but Breyden suggested tying a rope around it and cranking it back out. It worked enough to finally get us back. The girls got some extra tanning time, so everyone was fine.
When we got off the ship, we went over to the aquarium which was right by the harbor. We got some great pictures to show Paxton and had a good time.  The 3D whale movie is really good,  if not short.
Sea snakes are creepy and remind me of Ursula's garden in the Little Mermaid.
I love these fish that I forgot what they are called right now.  They are born normal, but as they grow, one eye moves closer to the other so they are both on top! They blend into their surroundings by camouflage as well.
Then we headed back to Napili for dinner and much needed rest.
