Black Friday
Breyden and Jennie got up and cleaned their cars and took pictures so they could get them listed for sale. They are planning to sell them before they go to Thailand when we leave.
Then we packed a lunch and put on our hiking shoes and sunblock and headed up to the Iao Valley Monument. We slipped past the fence illegally and followed a well-made path uphill to the top of the mountain through the jungle. It was so beautiful to smell banana trees and see guava fruit growing. It was a cloudy day and the weather was perfect but the jungle is wet, muddy and humid.
The hike was a little over 3 miles round trip according to Breyden's watch, but Adam's inner clock told him it was more like 5 miles. It was all uphill there and all downhill on the way back. You think downhill is easy, but in the mud and with shaky legs from the climb. It was harder than it probably should have been.
Everyone told me good job mom! Usually I get offended by that, but I owned it this time. I'm Denali 's words, "I never knew I could make it on legs like these!" I'm getting old! My steps are smaller and I have to hold on to trees all the time. I held on to Breyden going down the slippery parts and he was in flip-flops!
When we got back down we were covered in mud so we washed off in the river. (Especially because they just cleaned their vehicles)
We got back to the condo and had left over Thanksgiving and went to bed pooped!
