smbc105 week 9 Ponder

    1. In verse 46, "virtue" means "power" (see footnote). "And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that avirtue is gone out of me."
  1. Now read D&C 121:45
    1. If you substitute "power" for "virtue" in this verse, how does it influence your interpretation of the verse?
Let thy abowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let bvirtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy cconfidence wax strong in the dpresence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the edews from heaven.
  1. Now, in light of these insights, consider the content you’re preparing to post to social media and respond to the questions below.
    1. How does remembering that you are a covenant-making disciple of Jesus Christ inform your content choices?
    2. How can your knowledge of the power that is available to you through your covenants and discipleship influence the kind of content you create, both for your group projects and your personal social media outlets?
    3. How can being mindful of that power help your confidence to grow ("wax") strong in the presence of God and those you work with or have influence over?

Knowing that I have made covenants with God and that I am trying to be like Him in all that I do, in relation to social media, I think of the 13th article of faith. "If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." I want my content to be pleasing to the Lord and I strive to post content that is virtuous. Virtue is powerful. I don't think anything evil can stand against that which is virtuous. Evil may mock and belittle, but when something virtuous stands tall and strong, evil fades away.
Knowing this helps me to want to make something that will last and that is worthy of keeping the evil at bay. I know that when people see things that are good, they like it and they will share it for everyone to see. When you see something or suggestive, you have to stop and think carefully about who you would feel comfortable sharing it with so it doesn't get passed around as quickly as something good. Remembering that power can help your confidence grow, helps me to know that posting what is right, will always be better than something inappropriate. I won't have to question it or second guess who would like it.
